Clayven™ ✦ STORE POLICIES
Payment & Security.
A clear view of checkout totals, payment status, transaction protection, and what happens when a payment needs attention.
Considered details.
Clear expectations.
Before placing an order, checkout displays the available ways to pay and the total for that purchase. This page explains how payment authorization, completed charges, refunds, and payment questions are handled at the Clayven™ online store.
For a specific order, the checkout information, payment provider’s transaction record, and applicable consumer rights govern that transaction.
Choose your
payment method.
The payment methods available for an order are the options displayed at checkout. Availability can depend on the delivery destination, selected currency, device, and payment provider. A method not displayed at checkout is not offered for that transaction.
Use the secure checkout flow shown on clayven.com to enter payment details. Do not send card numbers, card security codes, account passwords, or one-time verification codes to customer support by email, telephone, or an order note. Our support team does not need those credentials to identify an order.
Know the amount
before you pay.
Review the product, quantity, shipping address, currency, delivery charge, tax, discounts, and final order total shown at checkout before confirming payment. The total displayed for your transaction is the amount submitted for payment. Your bank or payment provider can separately apply its own foreign exchange rate or account fees.
A promotional code affects the order only if checkout accepts it and displays the resulting discount before you submit payment. If an amount shown on your statement differs from the confirmed order total, contact us with the order number, currency, date, and amount; please do not include complete card details.
Understanding
payment status.
A payment can be authorized before funds are captured. Authorization means your payment provider has approved a proposed charge and your bank can temporarily reserve the amount. Capture means payment has been collected. The sequence depends on the payment method and the store’s checkout configuration.
A pending authorization on a bank statement is not, by itself, proof of a completed charge or accepted order. If an authorization is voided or expires without capture, the time for a pending entry to disappear is controlled by the bank or payment provider. Check your order confirmation and bank activity before trying again after an error.
When an order
is received.
After checkout, an order confirmation is sent to the email address entered for the purchase when the order is recorded. Keep the confirmation and order number for later questions. A payment failure, pending payment, or declined authorization can mean an order has not been paid, even if a temporary entry appears on your account.
If you do not receive confirmation, check the email address supplied at checkout and your spam folder. Contact service@clayven.com with your name, approximate order time, and the last four digits of the payment card only if necessary to locate a transaction. Do not send the full card number or security code.
How checkout
is protected.
The store uses Shopify checkout to collect the information required to complete an online purchase. Payment details are submitted through the payment processing flow made available at checkout. Payment providers may apply encryption, transaction screening, card verification, or additional authentication according to the method selected.
A bank or wallet provider may require a one-time code or other verification before approving a payment. Complete that step only within the provider’s own approved flow. No online system can guarantee absolute security; you can help protect your account by keeping device software current and avoiding shared or untrusted devices for payment.
Review of unusual
transactions.
To protect customers and the store, a payment or order can be checked for inconsistent billing information, unusual activity, suspected misuse, or a payment provider alert. This may delay processing while the transaction is reviewed. Where appropriate, we can contact you through the order contact details to resolve an issue.
We can decline or cancel a transaction when payment cannot be confirmed or a legitimate fraud or legal concern prevents fulfillment. If funds were captured for an order that cannot be fulfilled, we will arrange the applicable refund and explain its status. A review does not remove your rights under applicable law.
If checkout does
not finish.
A payment can fail because of a declined authorization, expired card, incomplete verification, incorrect details, provider outage, or another processor response. Before submitting a second payment, check whether you received an order number and whether your bank shows a completed charge rather than a temporary authorization.
If you believe you were charged twice, send our support team both order numbers if available, the dates, the amounts, and a redacted bank statement showing the entries. Do not send full card credentials. We will compare the order and payment records and explain whether an entry is a captured payment, a separate order, or a pending authorization.
Where a refund
is sent.
Refund eligibility is explained in our separate Return & Refund Policy and in rights that apply under law. When a refund is approved, its amount and method depend on the original transaction and the payment service used. Refunds processed through the original payment channel normally return to the original payment method; a split payment can result in a split refund.
After a refund is submitted, the payment provider and your bank control when it appears in your account. If the original account is closed or a refund fails, contact us with the order number so the available resolution can be reviewed. Please do not send bank account details until an appropriate secure process has been agreed.
Resolve a payment
question.
For an unfamiliar charge or an issue with an order, contact us at service@clayven.com and include the order number, purchase date, charge amount, and a short description. We can check the order record, payment status, delivery information, and any refund already submitted.
You can also contact your payment provider or bank using the support channel it provides. A card dispute or chargeback is handled under the provider’s rules and applicable law; the provider may ask both sides for transaction records. We will review and respond to such a request using the relevant records.
Payment data and
your privacy.
To manage a purchase, the store can receive transaction information such as payment status, amount, currency, provider reference, and limited identifying details. The data made available varies by the payment method and provider. Full payment credentials used at checkout are handled through the relevant payment flow rather than requested in customer support messages.
Our Privacy Policy explains how order and personal information is used, shared, retained, and subject to privacy choices. Financial and order records may be kept when required for accounting, fraud review, disputes, or legal obligations.
Keep payment terms
clear and current.
The methods and payment flow available for a future order can change when the store or its providers update their services. The options and total displayed at checkout apply to the transaction you are about to submit.
This page can be updated to describe changes in store practices. An update does not remove rights that arose from a completed payment or under applicable consumer law. Contact customer support if you need help with an earlier transaction.
